No end in sight for silicon wafer price rout

Mainstream transaction prices of monocrystalline silicon wafer 182mm and 210mm plummeted to 2.3-2.5 yuan/piece and 3.2-3.4 yuan/piece this week. Mainstream transaction prices remained at 2.4 yuan/piece, and some were as low as 2.3 yuan/piece. There was “a brief dip” in silicon wafer inventory to about 2.7 billion pieces amid falling operating rate and revived demand from solar cell makers. However, bearish market sentiment was reported, and polysilicon prices dropped. Under such circumstance, silicon wafer prices are expected to extend decline.
