Breaking News! Fire Breaks Out in Tesla Energy Storage Battery. On September 27th, Genex Power, an Australian battery project developer, said Wednesday that it is working with Tesla to investigate the cause of a fire in a large battery array at a facility in Queensland.

The company said that around 7:45 p.m. local time Tuesday, one of the 40 large battery arrays at the Bouldercombe Battery Project in Rockhampton caught fire. In a statement Wednesday, the company said that under the supervision of firefighters, the battery array was allowed to burn itself out and the cause of the fire is now being determined.

In a statement, Sydney-based Genex said: "No other Megapack modules were affected. The fire is now under control and the site has been disconnected from the grid."
