According to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in August 2020, the daily output of crude steel in China was 27.87 million tons, a decrease of 4.8% compared with the previous month; the daily output of pig iron was 24.07 million tons, a decrease of 3.8% compared with the previous month; the daily output of steel was 37.59 million tons, the same as the previous month. In August, the output of crude steel in China was 86.41 million tons, an increase of 3.2% year-on-year; the output of pig iron was 74.62 million tons, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year; the output of steel was 116.52 million tons, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year. From January to August, the output of crude steel in China was 712.93 million tons, an increase of 2.6% year-on-year; the output of pig iron was 603.59 million tons, an increase of 3.7% year-on-year; the output of steel was 909.20 million tons, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year.
