Spain is set to reach a record 27,968 GWh of photovoltaic electricity generation this year, surpassing the full-year 2022 figure of 27,902 GWh.

According to power system operator Red Eléctrica, photovoltaic solar generation increased by 32.3% compared to the same period in 2022, from January 1 to September 6.

Red Eléctrica explained that photovoltaic solar technology has been widely applied in parks, and its highest generation is due to favorable weather conditions and installed power, with photovoltaic solar currently being the third source of installed power, reaching 22,454 MW.
