SHANGHAI, Sep 5 (SMM) –In the week ending August 31, lepidolite prices dipped, despite tight supply. Downstream buyers’ sentiment shifted as lithium carbonate prices fell again after stabilizing the previous week. Short-term expectations suggest stable or lower lepidolite prices, tracking lithium carbonate trends.
In the week ending August 31, spodumene concentrate prices fell. Uncertainty over future lithium prices and concerns over lithium salt costs led to fewer spot deals both domestic and overseas. Downstream buyers pressed for lower prices, reducing sellers' eagerness to quote and ship. Market activity is currently sluggish, and a slight further decline in spodumene prices is expected in the short term.
