SHANGHAI, Aug 22 (SMM) – In the week ending August 17, lithium carbonate prices dropped. Despite some salt factories cutting production because of high stocks, supply remained ample. With falling lithium prices, downstream buying was wary. The short-term oversupply led to downstream stockpiling at reduced prices amid bearish sentiments. Despite signs of downstream interest and buying, actual demand growth is yet to be seen.
