On August 8th, the third direct current transmission channel in Xinjiang - Hami-Chongqing ±800 kV high voltage direct current transmission project officially started construction. The Hami-Chongqing project line is about 2290 kilometers long, with a rated voltage of ±800 kV and a rated capacity of 8 million kilowatts. The project starts from Balikun Converter Station in Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and ends at Yubei Converter Station in Yubei District, Chongqing City, passing through five provinces (autonomous regions and cities) of Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Sichuan and Chongqing, which conforms to the overall power flow of China's energy "west-to-east transmission".
