"Strict safety and environmental protection inspections, but the price of coking coal is unlikely to rise significantly. Currently, the price of coking coal has risen too quickly, and as of July 24, the price of low-sulfur main coking coal has reached 2050 yuan/ton, an increase of 400 yuan/ton. However, the recent coking coal prices have only risen by 100-120 yuan/ton, and the third round of price increases of 100-110 yuan/ton have not yet been implemented, and the same is true for steel, which has only risen by 50 yuan/ton. The gap in the increase is too large, and the profits of downstream coking steel enterprises are squeezed, and the acceptance of high-priced coking coal is reduced. According to SMM shipping data, the recent arrival of coking coal at the port has shown a significant downward trend, reflecting a change in the domestic coking coal supply and demand pattern, and a decrease in downstream cargo volume. With the decrease in downstream cargo volume, the momentum of coking coal prices to rise again is insufficient, but there is still strong price support, and it is expected to remain stable until early August. In mid-to-late August, the environmental inspection in Shanxi Province will end, and the supply of coking coal will be released, and there is a risk of price decline."
