DMC Prices To Extend Declines Amid Severe Oversupply And Slack Demand

SHANGHAI, Jul 7 (SMM) – From the perspective of DMC raw materials, the average price of #421 silicon metal (for use in silicone) in east China stood at 14,650 yuan/mt as of July 6, temporarily unchanged. The transaction prices of methyl chloride in Shandong rose by 350 yuan/mt to 2,350 yuan/mt. 

This week, the domestic demand for silicone was relatively stable. The terminal market, such as real estate and electrical appliances, was generally sluggish. Silicone was in severe oversupply, with stocks building up. Some producers cut offers in order to promote sales. SMM believes that the mainstream transaction prices in the DMC market will continue to drop due to the impact of poor orders.
