Weekly Review And Forecast: Silicon Coal Prices To Extend Declines

SHANGHAI, Jun 16 (SMM) – The price of silicon coal in each production area fell to varying degrees during the week, and the price of silicon coal in Xinjiang was still higher than that of other production areas. The ex-factory quotation in Xinjiang was 1,900-2,100 yuan/mt, while that in Shenmu area, Shaanxi province, was 1,100 yuan/mt, and the average price has been lowered by 100 yuan/mt compared with last week. The ex-factory price of silicon coal in Shanxi was 1,200-1,300 yuan/mt, and the price has dropped slightly. Due to the low price and good cost performance of silicon coal in Shanxi, its sales are good recently, thus its prices fell at a slower pace than that in Shaanxi. The price of silicon coal in Ningxia has also been lowered, and the current ex-factory price has reached 1,600-1,700 yuan/mt. With sufficient supply and weak demand, silicon coal prices will continue to run at a low level in the future.
