Last week, the average operating rate of galvanising enterprises rose 0.78 percentage point from the previous week to 61.67%. Zinc prices rebounded during the week, and downstream buyers were pessimistic over zinc prices. Therefore, they purchased as required and their raw material inventory decreased.
In terms of operating rates, ferrous metals prices strengthened last week, and market confidence over the real estate sector improved. Some dealers restocked inventories. Galvanised pipe companies produced more actively amid increased orders. In terms of galvanised structural parts, producers maintained relatively high operating rates thanks to the implementation of bid-winning projects.
Orders for high-speed rail, street light poles and extrusions were stable. There was no major change in operating rates. Galvanised pipe companies reduced finished product inventories last week due to market bearishness. It is expected that this week, affected by the off-season, operating rates should remain at the current level.
