Australia Will Introduce New Vehicle Emission Standards To Promote Popularity Of Electric Vehicles

According to foreign media reports, Australia said on April 19 that the country will introduce new vehicle emission standards to promote the popularity of electric vehicles. The country hopes to catch up with other developed economies in terms of the popularity of electric vehicles.

The Australian government said last year that it plans to introduce new regulations on vehicle carbon emissions in order to increase sales of electric vehicles. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who won election last year on promises of climate policy reform, cut taxes on electric vehicles and set a goal to lower Australia's carbon emissions by 43% from 2005’s levels by 2030.
