Weekly Anode Materials Market Review and Forecast

SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) - The decline in anode material prices slowed down significantly last week. Raw materials: The prices of high-quality low-sulphur petroleum coke rose slightly thanks to maintenance and low inventory. However, prices of needle coke were still in a downward trend due to abundant inventory. Graphitisation orders have not improved significantly as downstream manufacturers were relying on raw material inventory on hand. However, graphitisation prices temporarily stabilised as graphitisation plants were struggling around the break-even point. Downstream demand improved slightly, but market players remain pessimistic over future demand.
