Ternary Cathode Precursor Price Review In April

SHANGHAI, May 16 (SMM) - In the first half of April, the prices of ternary cathode precursors dropped along with falling nickel salt and cobalt salt prices. With raw material prices in a downturn and end-user demand showing no signs of obvious recovery, ternary cathode material enterprises focused on destocking.

In late April, nickel salt prices continued to fall, while cobalt prices stabilised, slowing down the decline in NMC 5-series precursor prices. After lithium salt prices bottomed out, ternary cathode material producers became more willing to make inquiries, but still tried to lower purchase prices.
