Qualcomm Acquires Chipmaker Autotalks

On May 8, Qualcomm announced that it had reached a definitive agreement to acquire Israeli automotive chipmaker Autotalks in order to deepen its presence in the auto industry. However, the parties to the deal did not announce the exact amount of the transaction. Qualcomm said the acquisition is intended to help accelerate the development and adoption of V2X solutions to improve traffic efficiency and achieve safety for drivers and road users.
Through the acquisition, Autotalks' production-ready, dual-mode standalone safety solutions will be incorporated into Qualcomm's expanding Snapdragon Digital Chassis portfolio of cloud-connected automotive platforms.
