SMM Forecast of Ternary Material Prices

SHANGHAI, May 8 (SMM) - The overall downstream demand did not improve, which was mainly dragged down by the sharp decline in overseas demand for high-nickel ternary cathode materials. Ternary material prices once had stood low because of the sell-off of ternary material companies out of panic, and last week, when the lithium salt prices rebounded and stabilised, the producers were boosted to raise their quotes. However, the downstream enterprises only bought a small number of ternary materials amid the stable lithium salt prices. It is expected that the ternary material prices will stay steady in the near term when lithium salt prices stop dropping.
