Commercial bank loans, adjusted for seasonal factors, rose by $41.6 billion in the week ended April 26, more than the $12.4 billion increase in the previous week, according to data released Friday by the Federal Reserve. Unadjusted loans and leases, meanwhile, added $43.5 billion. Deposits fell slightly on the week to their lowest level since mid-2021, as deposits at foreign institutions in the US decreased.
