Price Spread Between Refined Lead and Secondary Refined Lead Remained Flat

SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) - The price difference between primary lead and secondary refined lead remained at 150 yuan/mt last week. Most of the secondary refined lead available in the market contained high levels of bismuth and its prices stood at 15,000-15,050 yuan/mt on a tax-included and ex-factory basis, and the discounts stabilised at 100-175 yuan/mt. The secondary refined lead with low bismuth content was quoted at 15,100 yuan/mt, and the transactions were thin. The prices of plastics declined while the prices of battery scrap were high. Under the poor by-product profits and high costs, the overall profits of mainstream secondary lead smelters narrowed to 100-240 yuan/mt.
