SMM Weekly Anode Material Market Review and Forecast 

SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) – The prices of anode materials dipped last week. Raw materials: The prices of low-sulphur petroleum coke were generally stable, while those of needle coke dropped slightly. Graphitisation: The market was still oversupplied. Poor profits or even losses drove graphitisation plants to maintain low operating rates. Recently, some power battery factories reported sharp declines in their inventory, but remained cautious towards purchasing in view of uncertainty over end demand and raw material prices in the upper end of the industry chain. As such, most anode material plants also focused on destocking.
