Refined Zinc Inventory In Shanghai Drop In March

SHANGHAI, Apr 18 (SMM) – Shanghai: The inventory fell from about 60,000 mt in early March to around 43,000 mt at the end of the month. Some smelters shipped directly to downstream customers instead of social warehouses. This, coupled with maintenance by some smelters, resulted in limited arrivals. Increased purchases after zinc prices fell and relatively high operating rates at most downstream enterprises allowed large quantities of zinc ingots to be withdrawn from social warehouses.
