China Top Academic Institution Gives Reasonable Price Range of Lithium Carbonate, Three Factors Must be Considered

SHANGHAI, Apr 17 - Ouyang Minggao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that to set a reasonable price range for lithium carbonate, it is necessary to calculate the production costs, and at the same time, battery recycling and industrial chain safety issues must also be considered.

As far as the cost of lithium carbonate is concerned, the current production cost ranges from 50,000-160,000 yuan/mt, varying from low-cost lithium extraction from salt lake brine to the high-cost lithium extraction from lepidolite.

From the perspective of battery recycling, if the price of lithium carbonate is lower than 100,000 yuan/mt, the battery recycling industry will be greatly affected.
