SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) - According to SMM research, the amount of copper materials needed in a building is about 1.1 kg per square metre currently, which does not grow palpably. The decrease in newly built floor space will inevitably reduce the consumption of copper materials. Statistical chart shows that the newly started floor space declined, which means that the completed floor space will remain low and may not rise in the short term.
Over the past year, the regulatory authorities have actively issued favourable policies on the real estate side. "Guaranteeing the delivery of buildings” are still the focus, and we still need to pay attention to the implementation of special loans and supporting funds. At present, the floor space of new residence completions brought by the "Guaranteeing the delivery of buildings” is expected to continue to pick up, which may drive the copper consumption from real estate industry. According to SMM research, after the Chinese New Year holiday, the demand for copper cable and wire from civil engineering, the demand for copper billet from hardware and sanitary ware sector, and the demand from air conditioner industry have all picked up slightly.
