Fundamentals of Prebaked Anode Market Were Poor

SHANGHAI, Mar 20 (SMM) – The benchmark purchase price of prebaked anode was 5,895 yuan/mt in March.

In terms of raw materials, the prices of petroleum coke kept falling amid bearish sentiment.

Output cuts by aluminium smelters in Guizhou and Yunnan have affected the orders of some prebaked anode producers in south China and Shandong, putting them under pressure to curtail production as well. Some prebaked anode producers in south-west China cut their production sharply due to falling orders. The supply of prebaked anode in the market was abundant.
