Mexican President Signs Decree that Strengthens Lithium Ore Nationalization

According to foreign media news on February 20, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador signed a decree in Sonora State to strengthen the nationalization of lithium mines and integrate this valuable raw material as "national property" for responsible exploration and extraction.

The Mexican president also emphasized that "lithium nationalization" means that this resource will not be exploited by foreigners. He said that promoting the exploration and production of lithium, a strategic mineral for electric vehicles, is the goal of the people and governments of the entire North American region, and automobile factories will be completely remodeled as a result, which is why lithium is essential.
