Tesla to Expand Production of 4680 Batteries

On January 24, local time, a statement from Tesla once again focused its attention on the 4680 cylindrical lithium battery. Tesla said it will invest more than $3.6 billion to expand its super factory in Nevada and will add 4 million square feet of floor space to build two new factories-one for the manufacture of semi-trailer electric trucks and one for 4680 battery packs. The factory has a planned annual production capacity of 100 GWh and is suitable for 1.5 million light vehicles. The Semi factory, which will expand its production in the same period, is also expected to be suitable for light vehicles.
