SHANGHAI, Feb 14 (SMM) - In January, nickel ore arriving at Chinese ports stood at 1.99 million wmt, down 25.5% MoM. Shipments flowing out of the ports in the Philippines were 1.08 million wmt, down 25% MoM. The low shipments from the Philippine is caused by the rainy season. Besides, Chinese demand for nickel ore was slack in the month. The reduction in imports from the Philippines indirectly affected the arrivals of nickel ore at Chinese ports. Therefore, SMM believes that the imports of nickel ore in January will be limited.
