Battery Scrap Prices Fall amid Active Resumption of Traders

SHNGHAI, Feb 10 (SMM) - After the Lantern Festival, battery scrap traders resumed work and actively recycled goods. SMM electric bike battery scrap price fell 50 yuan/mt with the prices of white shell and black shell declining 25 yuan/mt respectively. In the first half of the week, the price of battery scrap in south China declined occasionally. But the prices remained stable in the second half of the week amid the procurement suspension of a large secondary lead smelter in Guangxi and the production resumption of a smelter in Guangdong. The purchasing prices of battery scrap in east China declined due to multiple factors. The battery scrap in Jiangxi was sufficient in light of low operating rates. Some smelters in Anhui just completed the maintenance and had little demand. A large-sized secondary lead smelter in Shandong was shut down for maintenance since Friday and lowered their purchasing prices for several times. The purchasing prices in north China remained unchanged. A trader reported that a large-sized smelter in Hebei recently stopped making quotations. And the low operating rates in Inner Mongolia suppressed the demand. As such, the contradiction between supply and demand was not prominent.
