China DMC Output Continued to Increase In January, Driven by Massive Production Resumptions

SHANGHAI, Feb 10 (SMM) – SMM data showed that China’s DMC output rose 9,200 mt or 5.95％ MoM to 163,900 mt in January.  The average operating rate in the DMC industry stood at 78.6% in January.

Silicone monomer enterprises maintained stable production during the Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday, and two enterprises geared up their production after the holiday. Silicone monomer enterprises in south China returned to normal production following maintenance. Expectations for restarts of real estate projects after the Lantern Festival (February 5) and upcoming peak season also encouraged silicone monomer enterprises to increase their production.   

Some silicone monomer enterprises who have been idled for a long time plan to re-open in February. Downstream producers have strong restocking needs. SMM predicts that DMC production will maintain an upward trend in February.
