China's Lithium Carbonate Supply-Demand Analysis in H2 2022

SHANGHAI, Feb 8 (SMM) -  China's lithium carbonate supply has been in shortage since the second half of 2022 as the stable output failed to keep up with the surging demand. The shortage reached its peak in last October with low imports caused logistics issues.

After November, a gradual decline in demand accompanied with continued growth of supply helped alleviated the deficit.

The lithium carbonate prices, under the influence of supply-demand balance, also peaked in October on dire shortage, and then trended lower after the shortfall eased. At the same time, the decline was accelerated when some companies started to sell off on bearish sentiment.
