SHANGHAI, Oct 24 (SMM) - According to market sources, the high-purity copper cathode clean production project with a capacity of 400,000 mt led by Yangxin Hongsheng Copper (affiliated to Daye Nonferrous Metals) has been put into operation on October 23, 2022 and is now running smoothly.
It is among key development projects of China Nonferrous Group in realising the so-called "321" development strategy to improve and upgrade the non-ferrous metal industry in Hubei Province, with the establishment of a world-class intelligent factory that is environment friendly and advanced in technology level.
With an investment of 8.7 billion yuan, the project is currently the largest single copper smelting project in the world and the sixth copper smelting project in the world to adopt the "double flash" process, in addition to Rio Tinto Kennecott, Yanggu Xiangguang, Tongling Jinguang, Jinchuan Fangchenggang and Chinalco Southeast.
