Operation of magnesium industry in 2021

In 2021, the overall operation of China's magnesium industry is stable, prices have risen sharply, and exports have reached an all-time high.

First, prices have risen sharply. According to the statistics of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the price of magnesium fluctuates greatly in 2021, with the lowest price of 13950 yuan / ton and the highest price of 70000 yuan / ton. The annual average price is 25244 yuan / ton, up 86% from the same period last year.

Second, exports reached an all-time high. According to the General Administration of Customs, in 2021, China exported 477200 tons of magnesium products, an increase of 21.2 percent over the same period last year; the export value was 1.935 billion US dollars, an increase of 101 percent over the same period last year; and the export unit price was 4052.3 US dollars per ton, up 65.8 per cent from the same period last year.
