SMM: according to the latest data released by the German federal network agency Bundesnetzagentur, Germany installed 447 megawatts of solar capacity in July 2020, an increase of 11 megawatts (2.2%) over June 2020. In the same month last year, 302 megawatts were installed in Germany.
In June 2020, Germany added 437 megawatts of solar installed capacity, down 2% from 446 megawatts in May. According to data released by federal agencies, Germany's cumulative solar installed capacity reached 51.98 GW by the end of July. Among them, solar devices close to 2.4GW were added in the first half of 2020 (1H), compared with 2.1GW in the same period last year.
Germany's new solar installed capacity was 3.3 gigawatts in 2013, 1.9 gigawatts in 2014, 1.5 gigawatts in 2015, 1.52 gigawatts in 2016, 1.75 gigawatts in 2017, 3 gigawatts in 2018 and 3.9 gigawatts in 2019.
In terms of installation capacity, COVID-19 does not seem to have much impact on solar installation in Germany.
Recently, the French Institute for data and Statistical Research announced that the country had added 379 megawatts of solar capacity in the first half of 2020 (1H). As of June 2020, the total cumulative installation in France reached 10.3 GW.
