Chinalco Guinea Alumina Project Feasibility report reviewed by the Guinean Government

SMM: recently, the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Guinean Government organized relevant experts to review the feasibility study report of Guinean Alumina Project submitted by Shenyang Aluminum and magnesium Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. After listening to the report of the Shenyang Institute project team on the feasibility study report, the Guinean government evaluation experts agreed that the Shenyang Institute showed it a high-quality work result within the specified time, and the report was detailed and well-justified. in line with the relevant provisions of the Mining Agreement.

Guinean government officials said that Chinalco kept its promise to complete the alumina feasibility study report on time, which is a milestone in the Chinalco project, and the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Guinean government will provide full support for the implementation of the project.

Subsequently, Chinalco overseas Development Co., Ltd. and the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Guinean Government exchanged views on the next step of work, and both sides agreed to continue to optimize the feasibility study report and further improve the project yield through joint efforts. Strive for the early landing of the project to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

It is understood that Guinea, located in western Africa, is rich in mineral resources, accounting for 2/3 of the world's bauxite reserves, but the country is one of the least developed countries announced by the United Nations because of its backward industrial base and poor transportation conditions.

Chinalco Group actively implemented the "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative, accelerated the development of globalization, and launched the Chinalco Guinea Bofa project in 2018. According to the contract, Shenyang Institute will complete the feasibility study of alumina project.
