In the face of the huge market demand, negative material enterprises are also accelerating the layout. Many enterprises continue to follow up in terms of production capacity and technology, in order to seize the first opportunity in the fierce market competition.

The great expansion of production capacity is

To enhance the scale of production capacity, product supply capacity and market competitiveness, Zhongke Star City in Guizhou production base for negative material production line and graphitization production line expansion. On July 2, the graphitization production line of 10,000 tons / year anode materials newly built in Guizhou production base was successfully ignited and put into trial production. Zhongke Star City strives to build it into an advanced lithium battery anode material and graphitization processing integrated production base.

It is understood that the Guizhou production base of China Science Star City was established in 2016 and mainly engaged in graphitization processing business of negative materials at the initial stage of its establishment. In order to open up and improve the company's negative materials business industry chain, the parent company, Zhongke Electric, completed its acquisition in 2018 and incorporated it into the new energy materials business department for overall planning. China Science and Technology Electric, the parent company of China Science and Technology Star City, said that the company initially expects to form a production capacity of 40,000-50,000 tons of anode materials by the end of 2020.

It is worth noting that on June 16, the National small and medium-sized Enterprise share transfer system listing Committee held its fourth review meeting in 2020, and the application for listing of negative material leader Betteri was successfully approved. The company plans to raise 2 billion yuan for projects such as Huizhou Beit's annual output of 40, 000 tons of lithium anode materials.

In addition, on April 27, the production ceremony of the lithium battery anode material production line of Tianquan Fusan Company of Fusan Group was held in Ya'an, Sichuan Province, and the production line with an annual output of 40,000 tons of lithium battery anode materials will be built. It is reported that Fusan Group will take this project as an opportunity to continue to increase investment in anode materials projects and strive to build 60,000 tons of lithium battery anode materials industry in Ya'an. Form an industrial base from raw material processing, raw meal processing, high temperature coating, graphitization, finished product processing, etc., and is committed to developing Tianquanfu saddle into the world's leading supplier of lithium battery graphite anode materials.

Prior to this, in March this year, Putailai planned to build a "graphitization project with an annual capacity of 50, 000 tons of anode materials for lithium-ion batteries" in Wulanchabu, Inner Mongolia, with a total investment of 1.281 billion yuan and a construction period of two years. Pu Tai Lai said that the project will achieve full coverage of the company's negative material processing and production processes, production integration, reduce production costs and improve product competitiveness. In addition, the first phase of Hunan Mianyu Fuji New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 20,000 tons of anode materials for lithium-ion batteries was completed and put into production at the beginning of this year.

High-end production capacity is in short supply.

At present, whether at home or abroad, the industrialization process of the new energy vehicle industry is accelerating, and all countries are promoting the full realization of automobile electrification. At the same time, with the emergence of new electronic products, the upgrading of electric bicycles and the widespread use of power tools, the demand for lithium-ion batteries has maintained steady growth. In 2019, China's lithium-ion battery shipments reached 131.6 GWH, an increase of 18.6% over the same period last year. In the future, the field of lithium anode materials still shows a broad market development space.

From the perspective of global market share, negative material manufacturers are mainly concentrated in East Asia, of which Japan and Japan account for more than 95% of the global market share. On the domestic side, the concentration of the domestic anode material industry is relatively high, and the more powerful ones are "three big and five small", which respectively refer to Betteri, Pu Tailai (Jiangxi Zichen) and Chinese fir shares; the five small points respectively refer to Kaijin Energy, Zhengtuo Energy, Shenzhen Snow, Zhongke Star City, Xiang Fenghua.

Statistics show that in 2019, driven by the growth of domestic and foreign power battery terminal markets, China's negative material market shipments reached 265000 tons, an increase of 38 percent over the same period last year. Among them, with years of technological advantages and high-quality overseas customer channels, leading enterprises such as Bertre, Jiangxi Zichen and Shanshan shares have further increased their market share to 56%.

It is understood that, as the leader in the field of negative materials in China, since 2013, Beitri's anode material shipments have ranked first in the world for seven consecutive years. Cunninghamia lanceolata and Cunninghamia lanceolata currently have a second market share in the field of anode materials, while Cunninghamia lanceolata shares have both high-end, middle-and low-end products, while PUTALAI mainly makes high-end anode products.

In recent years, with a large amount of capital entering the lithium material industry, the existing lithium anode manufacturers have expanded production, the total production capacity of domestic negative materials has expanded rapidly, and the homogenization competition is fierce. By the end of 2019, the production capacity of domestic anode material enterprises reached 579800 tons, an increase of 31.40% over the same period last year. Overall, the supply of domestic anode material products continued to grow rapidly, but the production capacity of high-end products still fell short of demand.

Industry analysis points out that at present, there are many domestic negative material production enterprises, which will inevitably lead to the intensification of market competition. In the next few years, the competition of domestic negative material production enterprises is mainly reflected in the catch-up of small and medium-sized enterprises to large enterprises, as well as the competition between small and medium-sized enterprises, the industry concentration will be further improved, and enterprises in the industry will face greater market competition risks.

Anode materials are typical technology-intensive industries, especially in the context of the continuous improvement of high performance, safety, low cost and stability of lithium-ion batteries in downstream new energy vehicles, energy storage and other terminal applications. Anode materials enterprises need to continue to develop new technologies, new processes and new products to meet the rapid iterative needs of downstream lithium-ion batteries for key materials.

In the future, the market competition pattern of negative materials will focus on the competition among the leaders, the low-end production capacity will be gradually cleared, the enterprises with core technology and superior customer channels will get more market share, and the market concentration will be further enhanced.
