All projects, excluding those in Hubei, will recover before March 15, according to a statement by China's State Grid, the world's single-largest copper buyer

SHANGHAI, Feb 19 (SMM) – At least half of the power engineering projects across 27 provincial-level electric power companies in China should resume construction or operations by end-February, and all projects, excluding those in Hubei, will recover before March 15, according to a statement by China's State Grid, the world's single-largest copper buyer.

The requirements are part of China's move to reduce the impact of a coronavirus outbreak while maintaining economic stability.

The Gansu part of the ±800 kV Qinghai-Henan UHV DC transmission and transformation project, with a total investment of 22.6 billion yuan by the State Grid, resumed operations on February 11. This is the first UHV project of the State Grid that resumed after the extended Chinese New Year holiday.

As of February 15, over 80% of more than 20,000 production-oriented subsidiaries of China's centrally-administered state-owned enterprises have resumed production, according to a report by state news agency Xinhua. The resumption rate of grid and power generation companies stood at 91.5%.
