SMM, June 26-May 2019 domestic manganese exports totaled 32500 tons, down 15 percent from the previous month, of which "unforged manganese, scrap, powder" totaled 29681 tons, and "forged manganese and manganese products" 2819 tons.
Among the export destination countries, the top five countries are South Korea, the Russian Federation, Japan, the Netherlands and India, accounting for 79 per cent of the total unforged manganese exports. It can be seen that domestic electrolytic manganese exports in May decreased by 5226 tons compared with April.
However, among the top five unforged manganese exporting countries, only the Netherlands imported 4044 tons of electrolytic manganese in May compared with April, while the imports of electrolytic manganese from South Korea and Japan decreased by about 1400 tons in May compared with April, while the imports of electrolytic manganese from the Russian Federation and India decreased slightly in May, by an average of 155 tons.
According to SMM, some exporters said that the recent demand in the overseas market is general, mostly for inquiry prices, encountered too low inquiry situation exporters difficult to handle transactions, but the overall overseas market transactions are still OK. In addition, some exporters believe that the overseas market is about to enter the off-season state of summer break in July and August, coupled with the current foreign macro-economy is not ideal, so it is expected that the export volume of electrolytic manganese will decline slightly in July and August, but exporters say that the export volume will not change much. At the same time, the industry believes that the total demand for electrolytic manganese and manganese products exported by overseas markets can be maintained at about 35000 tons.
The monthly average price of electrolytic manganese from November 2018 to May 2019 did not fluctuate greatly, with a fluctuation range of 50 yuan / ton. At present, the monthly average price of electrolytic manganese in domestic main producing area was maintained at 13200 yuan / ton (cash factory) in April and May.
