Lianyungang Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau reports China imported 76 shiploads, or 222,000 tonnes of zinc ore transit the Port of Lianyungang in the first half of this year.

SHANGHAI, Jul 14 (SMM) - Lianyungang Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau reports China imported 76 shiploads, or 222,000 tonnes of zinc ore transit the Port of Lianyungang in the first half of this year, down 52.87% year-on-year, which are worth 109 million yuan, cqn.com reports.

Zinc ore imports via Lianyungang from Australia and Peru were 65,300 tonnes and 47,900 tonnes, respectively, in the first half of the year, which account for only 27.08% and 36.59% of those during the same period of last year.

China’s zinc ore imports continued falling since the start of the year due to output cut in Australia and Peru, low TCs of imported zinc concentrate and soft demand from zinc smelters.

Zinc concentrate imports transit Lianyungang will fall further for the remainder of the year.
