Zhongke Electric recently announced its plan to terminate three anode material projects: the 130,000-tonne-per-year integrated lithium battery anode material project at the Ganmei Industrial Park (originally planned in 2022 and since suspended), the 100,000-tonne-per-year integrated project in Lanzhou New Area (also planned in 2022 and suspended), and the 100,000-tonne-per-year integrated anode material base project in Morocco (planned in 2024 and suspended). Separately, Tiantie Technology earlier announced the termination of its 100,000-tonne-per-year modified graphite anode material project in the Lujiang High-tech Zone, which had an originally planned total investment of approximately RMB 1.45 billion. Industry insiders believe that the anode material sector is now gradually moving beyond the stage of blind capacity expansion and entering a new phase of precise positioning, selective implementation, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement, with the pace of capacity clearance continuing to accelerate.

[Sinomine Temporarily Suspends Lithium Salt Production over Logistics Mismatch]
On June 30, Sinomine Resource Group announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jiangxi Sinomine Lithium, will temporarily suspend production for maintenance on its "30,000-tonne high-purity lithium salt" production line effective June 30, 2026, due to a mismatch between the transportation cycle of self-produced lithium concentrate and production scheduling. In addition, the "35,000-tonne high-purity lithium salt" production line will undergo temporary maintenance shutdown starting July 11, operating at partial low-load capacity, with completion expected by the end of July. The company stated that while short-term lithium salt output will decline, downstream demand remains strong, and full-year production and sales volumes will not be materially and adversely affected. The company will also improve the efficiency of lithium concentrate shipments and accelerate the construction of its lithium sulfate project.

Volkswagen plans to terminate its autonomous driving cooperation project with Bosch.
According to media reports, Volkswagen Group plans to terminate its partnership with automotive parts supplier Bosch in the field of autonomous driving. The collaboration project began in 2022, led by Volkswagen's software subsidiary Cariad, aiming to develop driver assistance and autonomous driving software for all Volkswagen brands. An internal evaluation showed that after a cumulative investment of €1.5 billion (equivalent to about $1.7 billion), the developed technology was not yet market-competitive and failed to meet the established expectations. In response, Cariad and Bosch issued a joint statement stating that they would not comment on market rumors, but confirmed that both parties regularly review their R&D partnerships and continuously assess whether they align with strategic technology goals and current market trends. It is reported that Volkswagen is currently seeking new alternative partners, plans to purchase hardware and software for autonomous driving systems from new suppliers, and is expected to complete the signing of a new contract by September.
