[SMM Steel] VinMetal partners with Primetals to develop green steel complex in Vietnam

[SMM Steel] VinMetal, a Vingroup-owned steelmaker, signed an MoU with Primetals Technologies to build an integrated green steel complex in Ha Tinh’s Vung Ang Economic Zone. The project will produce long and flat steel using advanced low-carbon and digitalized technologies, with Primetals acting as the technology integrator across the full production chain. The complex is targeted to begin initial operations in 2027 and will also include digital transformation and workforce training programs to improve efficiency and ESG compliance.
