[SMM Weekly Maintenance Statistics] According to SMM statistics, this week (April 25 to May 1), the hot metal impact volume resulting from blast furnace maintenance was.....

[SMM Weekly Maintenance Statistics] According to SMM statistics, this week (April 25 to May 1), the impact from maintenance on hot metal output due to blast furnace maintenance was 1.3485 million mt, up 46,000 mt WoW. Next week (May 2 to May 8), the impact from blast furnace maintenance on hot metal output will be 1.358 million mt, up 9,500 mt WoW.

Construction materials side, the impact from maintenance on construction materials this week was 928,000 mt, up 33,700 mt WoW. Next week, the impact from maintenance on construction materials will be 863,800 mt, down 64,200 mt WoW.

Hot-rolled side, the impact from maintenance on hot-rolled products this week was 199,500 mt, up 10,000 mt WoW. Next week, the impact from maintenance on hot-rolled products will be 18.85 mt, down 11,000 mt WoW.

[SMM Steel] Iran suspends flat steel exports until end-May amid conflict-driven supply disruptions
[SMM Steel] Iran has halted exports of flat steel products, including plates and HRC, until May 30, following severe damage to its steel industry from ongoing conflict. Around 10 mln mt of annual capacity (25–30%) has been disrupted, impacting major producers such as Mobarakeh Steel Company and Khuzestan Steel Company. The supply shock is expected to tighten global availability, particularly for semis and flat products, while domestic industries face rising input costs. Although imports may partially stabilize Iran’s market in the short term, full production recovery could take 6–12 months or longer, with broader economic and trade impacts anticipated.
