SMM, April 22: Dealers in Zhejiang reported that end-use consumption in the e-bike lead-acid battery market remained sluggish, with battery inventory digestion being slow. Current battery inventory stood at nearly one month. Additionally, battery wholesale selling prices saw no significant changes for the time being, and retailers were only purchasing as needed. For example, the mainstream model 48V20Ah was priced at 380-400 yuan/set. Manufacturers in Jiangxi reported that the off-season trend in the e-bike lead-acid battery market intensified, with battery orders weakening further and battery inventory accumulating. To ease inventory pressure, factory operating rates had been reduced to around 65%. Manufacturers in Jiangsu reported that e-bike lead-acid battery replacement demand was poor, and dealers were cautious in purchasing. Current factory operating rates were at 80-90%. Raw material lead was purchased mainly through long-term contracts. In addition, with the Labour Day holiday approaching, factories were expected to shut down for more than three days.
