On December 5, the 1000-kilovolt transmission project for the Phase IV of Pingwei Power Plant in Anhui was officially commissioned. As the concluding project of the "14th Five-Year Plan" ultra-high voltage (UHV) AC transmission initiative, it will enable the grid connection of Pingwei Plant's 2,000-megawatt generating units. This project further addresses the growing electricity demand in Anhui Province and holds significant importance for regional economic and social development.
The project serves as the supporting transmission infrastructure for Pingwei Power Plant's Phase IV expansion. With a total investment of 255 million yuan, it spans 4.83 kilometers of newly constructed single-circuit transmission lines from the plant's 1000-kV step-up substation to the Huainan 1000-kV UHV substation. The project also includes expanding Huainan Substation's 1000-kV switchyard and implementing a noise reduction retrofit for its 1000-kV high-voltage shunt reactors.
