Rusal Achieves Major Breakthrough in Stable Production of A7-Grade High-Purity Aluminum Using Inert Anode Technology

Rusal, a global aluminum industry giant, announced a major technological breakthrough, achieving stable production of A7-grade high-purity aluminum in the laboratory through inert anode technology. This innovation not only produces premium aluminum with purity meeting the international P1020 standard, but also revolutionarily releases oxygen instead of carbon dioxide during production, hailed by the industry as a "game-changing" milestone.

More critically, the A7-grade aluminum stably produced by this technology has reached international high-end purity standards. Rusal's technical team stated that the relevant electrolytic cells have achieved stable operation, with the technology's maturity sufficient to support industrial-scale deployment.

This breakthrough delivers a dual upgrade in "environmental protection + quality." On the environmental front, it completely eliminates the use of coal anodes, reducing carbon footprint at the production source and providing core technical support for the aluminum industry's green transition. On the quality front, the low-impurity characteristics significantly enhance aluminum's plasticity and reliability—when used in casting alloys, it improves casting stability; when applied in electrical products, it increases conductivity efficiency, directly boosting end-use product performance.
