Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 29, SERES Group signed a cooperation agreement with Harbin Institute of Technology ("HIT") to establish the "SERES Group-HIT Joint Innovation Institute for Intelligent Vehicles," according to a post on SERES Group's WeChat account.

The new institute will focus on key technologies such as artificial intelligence, multi-dimensional transportation ecosystems, and advanced powertrains. It will serve as a comprehensive platform that integrates research, education, industry, and application, covering areas from technology commercialization and talent recruitment to graduate training, student internships, and continuing education for employees.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, SERES Group Chairman Zhang Xinghai called the initiative a key milestone in the deepening of their strategic partnership. He said the institute aims to drive breakthroughs in core technologies, foster new innovation mechanisms, develop highly skilled talent, and elevate the value chain, ultimately creating a benchmark for industry-academia collaboration.

HIT Party Secretary Chen Jie and President Han Jiecai noted that the two sides have already achieved significant results since initiating their strategic partnership in January. They described the joint institute as a crucial step toward deeper integration of industry, academia, and research. Moving forward, the partners plan to align their efforts with national strategic priorities and emerging automotive technologies, enhancing resource allocation and collaboration to build a fully integrated ecosystem for education, research, and talent development in the automotive sector.

The agreement underscores a shared commitment to advancing innovation and industrial integration in the intelligent vehicle space. By establishing the joint institute, SERES Group and HIT aim to build a forward-looking hub for technology and talent, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of China's new energy vehicle industry.
