Chery Group sees monthly vehicle sales rise 10.3% YoY in April 2025

In April, Chery Group recorded vehicle sales of 200,760 units, marking a 10.3% year-on-year increase.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In April, Chery Group recorded vehicle sales of 200,760 units, marking a 10.3% year-on-year increase.

Of those, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. ("Chery Automobile"), the group's core subsidiary, contributed 184,850 units, up 5.2% from a year earlier. New energy vehicle (NEV) sales across the group surged to 61,223 units, reflecting a robust 85.5% year-on-year spike. Overall exports reached 87,738 units for the month.

From January to April, Chery Group sold a cumulative 820,785 vehicles, up 15.3% compared to the same period last year. Total NEV sales hit 224,629 units, which represented an impressive 140.7% year-on-year surge, while cumulative exports amounted to 343,203 units.

By the end of April, Chery had more than 16.5 million users worldwide, with over 4.8 million based overseas.

Brand-wise, the group's five major passenger vehicle marques all maintained strong upward momentum in April. The CHERY brand sold 120,034 vehicles, EXEED 9,348, JETOUR 44,060, iCAR 6,947, and LUXEED 4,461.

At the AUTO SHANGHAI 2025, which kicked off on April 23, Chery Group showcased its five core brands—CHERY, EXEED, JETOUR, iCAR, and LUXEED—alongside the international brand, unveiling 53 major vehicle models. The diverse product lineup was tailored to meet varied consumer demands across multiple segments. Highlights included the return of the iconic QQ, the debut of the tech-forward EXEED Tianji concept, and the striking presence of the JETOUR Zongheng G900, a luxury plug-in hybrid off-road SUV. The iCAR V23 introduced two new colors to appeal to younger buyers, while the LUXEED S7 and R7 demonstrated the brand's smart technology edge.

Beyond the star product lineup, Chery Group also presented its multidimensional technology ecosystem. This included cutting-edge powertrains, amphibious propulsion systems, humanoid robots, robotic dogs, flying cars, smart minibuses, and a next-generation integrated energy system combining solar, storage, charging, and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technologies. Together, these innovations reflect Chery's vision of a full-scenario smart ecosystem connecting people, vehicles, daily life, and energy.

The Ultra trim is an all-wheel-drive (AWD) model based on a dual-motor system, with motors mounted on the front and rear axles. It delivers up to 645 hp and maximum torque of 72.4 kgf·m, with a maximum driving range of 440 km.

According to CPCA data, in April, passenger vehicle market sales were 1.368 million units, down 19.4% YoY and down 7.0% MoM; new energy market sales were approximately 817,000 units, down 6.2% YoY and up 2.4% MoM. In April, new energy market sales accounted for 59.7% of total passenger vehicle sales, up 8.4 percentage points from the same period last year. In April, BEV sales were approximately 571,000 units, up 3.9% YoY and up 2.4% MoM; PHEV sales were approximately 246,000 units, down 23.5% YoY and up 2.4% MoM. Cumulative new energy auto sales in 2026 reached 2.61 million units, down 18.4% YoY on a cumulative basis.
