Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 30, during the AUTO SHANGHAI 2025, Chinese automotive chipmaker SemiDrive signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Japan's Shinko Shoji. The two companies will work together to promote SemiDrive's automotive chip deployment in the Japanese market and accelerate the company's global expansion.

SemiDrive said the partnership marks a key milestone in its globalization efforts, signifying a shift from independent overseas expansion to a localized joint development model.

As a main player in China's automotive semiconductor sector, SemiDrive offers products covering intelligent cockpit and vehicle control applications. The company currently supplies over 90% of China's OEMs as well as several major international automakers. With the goal of becoming a global leader in automotive semiconductors, SemiDrive has in recent years ramped up its overseas presence by establishing offices and localized teams in markets such as Germany and Japan, aiming to deliver high-performance, highly reliable chip solutions to customers worldwide.

Shinko Shoji, a well-established Japanese trading company specializing in automotive supply chain products, brings extensive local market resources and experience. Its core business spans the sales and import/export of integrated circuits, semiconductor components, electronics parts, and related devices, with deep engagement in sectors such as automotive, industrial equipment, and office automation. The company maintains long-term relationships with leading Japanese firms across these industries.

Under the new agreement, Shinko Shoji will take full responsibility for sales, channel development, and local customer support for SemiDrive's products in Japan. Leveraging its strong local footprint, Shinko Shoji aims to help SemiDrive rapidly connect with target customers and seamlessly integrate its technologies into the market.

"Japan is a critical hub for automotive innovation and a key part of our global strategy," said a SemiDrive representative. "With Shinko Shoji's localized support, we are confident that our high-performance chips will serve Japanese customers more efficiently, further strengthening our competitiveness and contributing to the global development of the smart vehicle industry."
