ZEEKR enters African market, introducing ZEEKR 001, ZEEKR X models in Egypt

On February 11, ZEEKR, an electric vehicle maker under Geely Automobile, held a launch event in Cairo, marking its official entry into the Egyptian market.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On February 11, ZEEKR, an electric vehicle maker under Geely Automobile, held a launch event in Cairo, marking its official entry into the Egyptian market.

At the event, the automaker officially introduced the ZEEKR 001 and ZEEKR X models to the Egyptian market, starting at EGP 2.7 million (approximately RMB 388,300) and EGP 2.1 million (approximately RMB 301,900), respectively.

In comparison, the ZEEKR 001 is priced between RMB 259,000 and RMB 329,000 in China, while the ZEEKR X ranges from RMB 149,000 to RMB 229,800.

ZEEKR's first store in Egypt is located in the capital, Cairo, with plans to expand its retail network to cities such as Alexandria and New Cairo.

ZEEKR stated that Egypt is the second-largest electric vehicle market in Africa, with surging demand for new energy vehicles. Entering Egypt marks a significant milestone in ZEEKR's global expansion and its first step into the African market.

To date, ZEEKR has entered over 40 major international markets across Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and Latin America.

On January 27, 2025, the company announced that its 15,000th overseas vehicle had been officially delivered. In 2025, ZEEKR plans to open more than 100 stores worldwide.

In terms of infrastructure, ZEEKR Power unveiled its 800V ultra-fast charging network oversea deployment plan at the CES 2025 on January 7. The company aims to complete regulatory certifications in various markets throughout 2025 and collaborate with local partners to establish 1,000 self-oeprated charging stations. The initial rollout will cover Thailand, Singapore, Mexico, the UAE, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, and Malaysia.
