Shanghai (Gasgoo)- FANGCHENGBAO, a premium automobile brand under BYD, announced on January 20 that deliveries of its flagship BAO 8 off-road SUV have exceeded 10,000 units.

Hitting the market in November last year, the BAO 8 is available in four trim levels priced between 379,800 yuan and 407,800 yuan. Positioned as a new energy off-road SUV, it measures 5,195 mm in length, 1,994 mm in width, and 1,875 mm in height (1,905 mm with the roof rack) with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.

The vehicle's exterior design shares similarities with the YANGWANG U8, featuring a boxy silhouette and a roof-mounted trio of observation towers—one equipped with a LiDAR sensor and two decorative elements.

The BAO 8 offers a wealth of advanced features, including an AR-HUD, a full liquid crystal instrument cluster, and a co-pilot screen with interactive capabilities. Powered by BYD's DiLink 150 system and the 9000 chipset, the vehicle supports AI large models and retains numerous physical buttons for intuitive operation.

With 6- and 7-seat layouts, the SUV provides electrically adjustable seats for all rows, easy second-row controls, and one-touch third-row entry, catering to family users.

The BAO 8 features Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 advanced smart driving system, offering full-scenario intelligent driving assistance, including end-to-end navigation, valet parking, remote vehicle movement, and self-parking capabilities.

The BAO 8 is also equipped with the DiSus-P hydraulic suspension system, the same one used in BYD's YANGWANG U8. This suspension system, a technological highlight of BYD's portfolio, features a 140mm suspension travel height, adjustable stiffness in three levels, intelligent damping control, and predictive road scanning with four-wheel interlink capabilities, enhancing overall driving stability.

Performance-wise, the BAO 8 is built on FANGCHENGBAO's exclusive DMO platform. It features a longitudinally mounted high-output 2.0T engine, paired with a 200 kW front motor and a 300 kW rear motor, delivering a combined output of 550 kW and 760 N·m of torque. The model can zip from 0-100km/h within just 4.8 seconds. Despite its hefty weight of over three tonnes, it achieves an impressive fuel efficiency of 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers on battery depletion.
