【Sodium-ion Battery Energy Storage Project Tender: CGN's Tender Announcement for a 11.25MW/22.5MWh Sodium-ion Battery Energy Storage Project】On September 27, 2024, China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) Zhongshan Wind Power Co., Ltd. issued an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) general contracting tender notice for the CGN Guangxi Zhongshan 200MW/400MWh Centralized and Shared New Energy Storage Project. The energy storage system for this project comprises a 192MW/378.31MWh lithium-ion battery system and an 11.25MW/22.5MWh sodium-ion battery system, sharing a common EMS (Energy Management System). Owner: CGN Zhongshan Wind Power Co., Ltd. Project location: Yantang Town, Zhongshan County, Hezhou City, Guangxi Province. Scope of tender includes supporting facilities, electrical equipment, etc. Commencement date: October 30, 2024. Completion deadline: All grid-connected power generation must be completed by December 31, 2024, with a total construction period of 62 calendar days.

Of this, exports to China were 13,601 mt, down 40.75% MoM and up 40.87% YoY; exports to South Korea were 3,392 mt, down 2.77% MoM and up 27.34% YoY; and exports to Japan were 492 mt, down 57.56% MoM and up 42.04% YoY. In May 2026, Chile's total lithium sulfate exports to China were 14,200 mt, up 17.41% MoM and up 45.97% YoY.
