Contact Energy Forms Partnership with Tesla to Build Battery Storage System in New Zealand
According to a report in the New Zealand Herald on July 1, the diversified energy company Contact Energy in New Zealand has formed a partnership with Tesla, and the two sides will build a 100 megawatt battery storage facility in Glenbrook, New Zealand, costing up to US$163 million. This initiative will significantly enhance Contact Energy's flexibility in the renewable energy sector and be able to provide over two hours of winter peak power demand for 44,000 households.
